The association
The non-profit association "Kultur ohne Grenzen e.V. ("Culture without Borders") was founded in 1999. It developed from a private initiative which had existed for more than 6 years to support artists in exile.
These artists usually are hard hit. At one time they were famous in their native country or at least well-known. In their new surroundings they are unknown and in the beginning often helpless because of the difficulties of a new language, but most of all through lack of contacts in their field.
Aims of the association
To offer a platform for the artists for their artistic work and for their cultural identity. To allow them and us an insight into another world and to encourage cultural exchange.
Therefore we especially support non-European artists who live in exile in Europe. Organisation, execution and free of charge arrangement of concerts and exhibitions etc. in Germany and other countries of the European Community is the main task of this association
Moreover, the association would like to be a centre for cross-cultural exchange. The cooperation of native and foreign artists should be supported and stimulated. Therefore, artists from abroad should also be invited, or European artists should be mediated for foreign events.
Pool of artists and contacts
Since the time previous to the establishing of the association - when the private initiative existed - there have been contacts with artists from the following countries: Algeria, Bosnia, China, India, Irak, Iran, Kasachstan, Morocco, Russian Federation, Eastern Turkestan, Taiwan, Turkey, Tunesia,Bulgaria, Rumania, Russia, Hungary, Sierra Leone, Syria & the US. These contacts include both musicians, dancers, painters and sculptors. Extension and intensification of the international contacts are envisaged.
Further projects
At the moment the association plans to produce a CD with several recordings of the musicians mentioned above to introduce them to a larger audience and to support their introduction to cultural institutions. With the same purpose the association plans to create its own Internet-website.
Members
Any natural or judicial person can become a member through a written statement. At least once a year there will be a meeting of all the members of the association to inform them about the activities of the past year.

Finances
Membership-fees, sponsoring and donations are the association's source of income Donations are tax-deductable. Information about the bankaccounts of the association follow below. The financial means of the association are strictly to be used for the aims mentioned in the regulations. Members never receive any financial means from the association.
Bank-account of the association:
Tax-deductable donations can also be transferred to the above-mentioned bank-account. Circumscription: donation for "Kultur ohne Grenzen e.V."
